Something subtle. Houzz is filled with people who don't like their busy backsplashes.

I'd pick a pale gray that will bring out the veining on your striking counters without competing. You'll need to bring a few home to get the right match. There are some lovely ones at Lowes and at Floor & Decor right now... (names are links)

Here are a few examples in that general direction... (I'd use gray grout though)

Definitely go with gray. Nothing with too much blue undertones. Warmer grays will serve you well in this kitchen. But match the grout to the tile! I like Nathan's example with the rectangle of inset stone surrounded by tile. Inquire about getting a separate piece cut from your slab. It's an interesting but understated treatment. Best of luck

Carrera marble either rectangular or hex or herringbone tiles will give you the most elegant look. Porcelain subway tile in white or grey is a younger casual look. Either would lool great but I am partial to carrara.

your new find "matches," but will compete with your counter. for some elements to star, others need to be willing to play a supporting role. that's why all the suggestions for white and gray. if you'd like a bit more flash, I'd go all-stainless, so you get the shine and color without adding another pattern.
