Kitchen Counter Stools Dilemma

We are looking for new kitchen counter stools. Our kitchen gets a lot of natural light and we have a lot of darker wood - sienna colored cabinets, chocolate floors, SW dovetail gray walls (counters are new venetian). We have young boys so something durable but feels like we already have a lot of wood in the kitchen. Looking for stool ideas maybe softer that blended in. Open to other recos too if you have them - table decor, backsplash,etc.

What about something in a creamy finish to keep things lighter? I have the last stool (Ballard version) in black, and it's very comfortable. I think it comes in a weathered cream. Do your boys do ok with the swivel? I think your current stools are swivel?

I think a cream would work well and compliment the counter tops. We do have swivel now and the kids like them. Do you have the marguerite or constance stools from ballard? The lightest marguerite I saw was the aged driftwood oak which is the lighter of the two in the middle picture. I didn't see swivel or cream for the constance (cross-back) and wasn't sure if it was durable.

I kinda love these and microfiber is terrific in terms of durability. I know they're quite a departure from your current style, but ?

I wouldn't worry about the color of the stool itself, only that if feels light and modern and going with an industrial look could be complimentary.

I have the Constance. I'm looking at the catalog and it comes in a worn white, not cream. Maybe that could work since your trim is white? It's a very comfortable stool, I've had it for years..

I've also always loved the Marian metal stool and am thinking about switching mine out. That one comes in a distressed cream.

Our style is more transitional although I don't think that is really reflected by the current look of the kitchen. The microfiber is an interesting idea too.

The Transitional style is easy to work within as your kids get older, and microfiber fabric on the stools would be a great choice! Comfortable AND easy to clean.

The other style that I like are these chairs however I don't know that they are the right fit for this space

Swivel type probably would be best for kids as long as they don't kick the under counter.

Try to avoid white as all of your lighting is white. You could use some color. Notice the bases of these being the same & I think they may be easier in the wood floor, but do consider the legs when you buy the stools. You won't want scratches.
