How to grow oriental lily bulblets?

Scaling Project:

Hi guys & gals, I have some oriental lilies bulbs that were given to me last fall (2014), most of them were dried up ( they were gotten real cheap ), out of the five I planted, only two have grown. So I took some scale from them & now I have little bulblets coming up. Do I have to chill them in the refrigerator for a month or two? They don't have any leaves on them. I'm in zone 6b, Cincinnati Ohio.

When I have bulblets, I just go ahead and plant them.

I planted them thickly in a crate, just so I could baby them thru the summer and to save having to weed them. Last fall I just planted them out in the garden, we will see what this season brings, but they were healthy and strong.

Some of the literature says that 2 to 3 weeks of cooler conditions makes for a sturdier and stronger plant.
