Still snowing good down here. News says 1-3" for tonight, I've bee reading 8-16" by the time its all said and done on Tuesday. I am not at all excited for this week. A foreshadowing for this spring? Unfortunately I am afraid it may be.

With all this saturating moisture from snow we probably won't need to water our lawns until mid June.

I am sure our spring winds will take care of a lot of the moisture in the ground. Good thing is the improving snowpack in the mountains.

I have a pile along my driveway that is over 3 feet tall. Unless we have an exceptionally dry March and April, I don't expect to see that part of the yard again until the end of May.

Measuring out on the “flattest parts” of my yard, it looks
like I have about 9” of snow on the ground from this storm! When it first started the ground was warm and
the first stuff was melting, so for a “real” total, I estimate at least an inch
or two more than that. I was REALLY
surprised when I got up this morning!
Thru the whole thing, including right up to when I went to bed last
nite, it had only snowed “fine” snow, and pretty lightly most of the time, and
it really didn’t seem to have added up “that” much, but “overnite,” and I was
up till 2:00 a.m., “something” happened, and there was a whole bunch of it out
there by daylight! I shoveled the
sidewalk yesterday while it was snowing—heavy stuff since it was melting on the
bottom, and then a neighbor shoveled my whole driveway (which I won’t be
using!) and a “shovel wide” down my whole walk, which makes it “legal!” I was out earlier and “widened” my sidewalk,
and got some of the stuff left on the neighbor’s walk! I need to get exercise somehow in winter!

Wonder if we’ll get any more Big Ones this year! Zach, Mr. Snow Hater, were you here the year
we had a new blizzard every week for a month or more? I think it was ‘06/’07! The first one was just before Christmas, and
then they just kept going. Thousands of
people were “stranded” at the airport for DAYS, and they ran out of food and
everything else. I think that was the
storm when United “lost” an unaccompanied minor at DIA for something like four
hours—and the airline didn’t even know she was missing! And there was somebody selling Genuine
Colorado Snow on eBay! The buyers, of
course, had to pay the shipping! The
ruts in the street in front of me were a foot deep—for most of a month! Denver had DIRTY SNOW! For at least a month! Dirty Snow is a rare creature here along the
Front Range! I had lived here for more
than 40 years and had never seen anything like that winter! And I’m sure I never will again in this
lifetime! So, Mr. Snow Hater, it COULD
be worse!

How much did everybody else get this time?

I haven't gone out to measure but guesstimating from what I saw on the top of the retaining walls going up our drive we have at least a foot. We also had a "plow fairy"--someone ran a plow up our drive for some reason.....Nice of them but they left a drift 2-3' tall to go over to get into the garage....Weird!

No mishaps cleaning off the dish for DTV and Hughes Net, Jeff did it this time! He's normally at work when we get the big snows; he's actually been stuck on base for 3 days before because of blizzards. He didn't even have a single close call out there! I'd have at least fallen over once or tried to do the splits down the stairs....he must be much more coordinated than I......

Just measured out in the yard, it was at exactly 12". We probably lost a little bit to melting, but not a whole lot.

I was here in 06-07 but I don't recall that particular storm. I know it could always be worse, we could be like those states that the snow never actually melts all winter. At least here "dirty" snow is a rarity. Then again it could be better, we could be one of those states where snow at all is a rarity haha!

Well over a foot in Golden. Good exercise shoveling out yesterday. My workplace stayed open except for a few staff members who had been anticipating a snow day since Friday and decided to take one anyway.

The blanket of white stuff did a great job insulating the greenhouse and it stayed in the mid 20s despite low teen temperatures last night. Here's to hoping the radishes and lettuce and chard didn't get hurt.

Got a foot before the wind blew it around and closed the roads. The moisture was an impressive .48" and it isn't even spring. Hey, we'll take it.
