some Captan is maybe an idea!

As mentioned above, Captan is desirable to use on the wounds to help the drying process which is imperative before planting. You can also use cinnamon. The cut areas should be totally dry before being set in damp soil. If however the cuts are above the soil line than you could plant, just being careful to keep the wounded areas dry until they harden over.

Regardless of whether or not you use a drying agent if they have been air dried and you feel that they are totally calloused over then it should be safe to plant.
