if this is a renovation, you have some limitations based on the existing framing unless you want re-engineer the exterior wall of the kitchen and living room.

if it is new construction, then you can engineer the exterior wall accordingly.

I would put as many windows as you can over sink and then a fresh door slider in living space. It's lovely to be able to sit down and look out into your backyard. It's also nipple to walk into a home and see a French door leading out to backyard. Hard to be more specific with so few details.

Is there windows and doors and what are the dimensions between them and from the corners? Is there adjoining rooms with openings to enter them other than the staircase? Any existing partitions or closets in the kitchen area? If yes, you should indicate them also and anything else you like to include.
