I wonder if it was 'Golden Street'. Lots of nice looking plants there! So what goodies did you get? I recognize his wonderful clone of S. masoniana variegated for sure....

Chris, I think I'm planning on going to Tennessee next time. I want a piece of that Golden Street. I'm planning a trip to South Carolina in late spring. It's only 4 hours out of my way.

Boys, boys, control yourselves. haha! Chris the brown, very large, leafy, and obviously dead sansevieria is normal masoniana. I got tired of bringing it inside and outside to say nothing about how much room it took up in the room so I just left it outside. It weighed an awkward 75 pounds and I just couldn't muscle it around anymore. I have posted pictures of it in years previous.

Stush. I would make that 4 hours 'out of the way' worth your time. :-) Rhonda knows we have a nice pvt. bedroom for an overnight. Yes, Chris is right, it was 'Golden Street'. that you might have seen.

Rhonda, the plant whose name I couldn't remember was 'parva white' that you were looking at covetously. You an take it home come Spring.

Rhonda took a lot of pictures, and I (actually my wife, Jean) only took one which I will post here. Rhonda and I are holding 3 take-home plants: 1. 'Crested Hahnii' named by Tata Montilla. Its not crested in the botanical sense but the short leaves are very heavily keeled and grow very close together. to fill a pot rather quickly. Rhonda has plenty to share :-), 2. Concinna dwarf (a spoon leaf Sansevieria with some green seeds.......

......on a stem), and 3. a variegated masoniiana.

It was a good day. Rhonda and I hit it off great, and she might even join our local cactus and succulent club. 'Menthe' is one of us :-)

It looked like a parva to me. I wasn't sure though because I've not seen one so heavily variegated. I am looking forward to spring. Now that I have an idea of what I volunteered to help with, I can't wait to help repot some of your beauties. Some of those pots looked promising of hidden pups. That dead masoniana looked like it had some green still in the back corner. I'm hoping it does survive. Thank you for the wonderful time Mike. Next time I'll have daughter in tow for sure and you can see why I say when I grow up I want to be just like her.

I forgot to add, my daughter tattled on me, she said I bought plants today. She got me in trouble for no reason. I had to explain that I was actually good. Although had I money I would have taken home Bantel's Sensation from Stanley's. We don't need to tell her that though.

I got plenty of Bantel's sensation for just postage. I have way too many plants and come spring I want to start giving them out. Several Moonshine, Silver Laurentii, Futura Eve, trifasciata 'hahnii', Siam Silver, Fischeri Singalaris, masoniana, (Schweinfurhia) erythraeae. And yes I am making another trip to the hospital. For the good this time. All is expective to be ok. I got to limit my hobby.

Stush, I will definitely take you up on that when our weather is more consistent. I would be especially interested in schweinfurhia and fischeri and a green Masoniana, although I'm still rooting for Mike's large one to come back.

All the sans chat here and pics have been wonderful!! Mike, I remember you from years ago on a forum, as well as your brother Dale. Great to see you 'in person', as well as Rhonda. Wish I was up your way, I'd definitely stop in and see you and the collection, perhaps a cup of coffee.

Mike, I forgot to ask about "Golden Street" There is a golden plant and a silver plant in the pot. I'm curious which is the chicken and which is the egg. Did the golden revert back to the silver or did it morph into the silver? Whilst the golden one is stunning I think I like the silver part more. Oh and what was the name of the one that had fallen over? I didn't catch its name.

Hey Mike, I'm still here at Lake Monroe. It certainly doesn't seem as long as 20 years since we were part of that forum, but in any case... it's been quite a spell. Does that forum still exist? I'm trying to recall the hurricane you mentioned but memory isn't serving so well these days. I know there was a bad one way back when... but when?

Anyway, great to 'meet up' with you again. My collection is a bit bedraggled but intact, over 100 species, cultivars and hybrids. I still have some from Alice Waidhofer, Norma's distribution of Huntington BG plants in 1999, as well as one or two from you or more probably Dale. I don't have many large plants as you do, but I tend to propagate and divide rather than leave them alone, a definite fault of mine. I admire your growing abilities, your sans are superb.

Thought about Norma the other day, do you know if she is well? I remember Norma and her funny twin Hermine were always the 'life of the forum'. Those were the days.

Health and energy level aren't what they once were, so I have been less active in trading or buying sans in recent years. But sans spirit and interest are still very strong.

I met Norma in May of 2009 when I went down to San Diego for the SDES show and sale, I think I joined Hermine's group in 2006 or 2007. I joined GW a few months after Spike started it. Norma was a regular a few years after that. I hear she's doing ok but that's hearsay. I'd like to know if she's doing ok also.
