Removing PVC glue/solvent

So there I was wanting to go to bed and my hands were covered in PVC glue and purple solvent and the pipes couldn't pressurize for 45 mins. (I always wait 45 mins to put my 50 psi in the pipes). I was peeling gunk off for a while and I thought I would lube it up with hand sanitizer. it melted everything and it all came off fast. Wish I knew that 25 years ago!!!

well yes, hand sanitizer usually has alcohol and some surfactants. )

I also like orange oil based good removal products

I had a PVC snafu with two leaks. I installed two side by side shower systems in the tub and the plumbing was extreme. PEX would have been more suited for the task but I like PVC. BUT, I had to pull the whole thing out twice to fix mixer fitting leaks and I was ready for bed on the final fix. I was proud of myself for getting cleaned up so quick. I usually just peel it off over a few hours and live with the purple :)
