Structural Questions: Room Expansion

Refer to photo for the questions marked (1) and (2). I don't want to remove upper floor to expand the bedroom above kitchen/dining, nor do I want the upper floor to have one room with higher floor than the other. Looking for advise on what's the optimal way to address the issue. Thanks!

Assuming I understand the small photos and cryptic descriptions, if the upper story exterior bearing wall is moved to the outer face of the deck and will align with the exterior bearing wall below, if the wall below is strong enough to support the roof load, what you will need to reframe is the existing roof or add a beam under it. The floor should already be adequately supported.

What your architect should have already done is draw a building section perpendicular to the face of the house so you could see the new load paths to the ground. To determine any hidden structural conditions it will be necessary to find the original design drawings or expose a portion of it.

You will need a structural engineer in addition to the architect and engineers are unlikely to guess about anything.
