Miltonopsis tend to like cooler temperatures too, but you have to cut down on the watering a bit (compared to summer temps).

Phals require cooling to initiate buds, but they don't like being COLD. From previous experience, 10C is ok as long as you cut back on watering (again because less water is being lost than in warmer temps). In fact, I found best growth in bright cool environments myself.

I believe I have one of that last that you posted...bought it last spring. It's loving the cool laundry room (almost unheated) this winter.

I don't know the specific name for each one of them. (I just know do I?) they are miltoniopsis. I will keep the name you wrote to remember. Thank you! Is your giving out spike yet? I looked back in my record and see that they spike last May. and bloomed in July. Lasted for about 5 weeks.

Tanie, you have yourself some very beautiful and very healthy looking plants! I only have three phals, though will build up a small collection now that I've discovered just how easy they are to grow! While in Walmart or Super Store or wherever we might be, we always take a good look at their orchids in hopes of finding a must have plant. I did come across the same heavy flowering phal as shown in your second photo and it made its way home with us!

Thanks Twros! I actually didn't lose the yellow milt. The one above the yellow. Burgundy and yellow in the centre. I lost that one. It was very beautiful to me and beautiful fragrant too. I have been looking for another milt like that to replace that one but no luck yet.
