Favorite multi-colored roses

I am becoming very fond of multi-colored and bi-colored roses, even though I have fewer than a dozen out of close to ninety total roses. I love all my roses, but the combinations of color add so much beauty and excitement! For this season I am adding: Color Magic, Bella'Roma, Gemini, Pink Promise, and Dream Come True. When I stop and think about some I've had through the years, I'm not sure why I don't have more, they were all beautiful.

I've started a similar thread before, so this can be an update, lol!

What are some of your favorites? Pictures are allowed.

Wow very nice multi-colored roses Sara Ann! :-)

Bella Roma- Intense, sweet fragrance, big flowers, long, strong sturdy thorny stems, glossy leaves, great vase life, relatively healthy. I love this rose, you will too.

Typhoo Tea- Bred from Fragrant Cloud and even more fragrant if you can believe it. This rose gets tall and has long, thorny stems, big fat blooms with lots of petals. I love this rose.

Double Delight- Must have rose. Medium well behaved bush, good repeat, intense fragrance, color vary with sun/cloud mix.

Cinco De Mayo- FLoribunda, mild scent, low growing , very floriferous.

Escapade- Floribunda upright habit, mild scent, will flower in part sun.

Pat Austin- Flowers droop, interesting musky fragrance, the deer love it.

Secret- Very sweet smelling blooms, short plant, not real vigorous or floriferous, but the fragrance alone makes it worth growing.

Here are a few of mine:

ABRACADABRA - An obscure J&P rose that grows pretty short for me, like barely 2ft. Love the colors it gets.

CANDIA - A florist rose that is really quite lovely. Grows about 3ft x 2ft.

DELANY SISTERS - A monster of a plant! Almost always in bloom with tons of blooms. Only problems are, she's extremely thorny, and grow like a dang octopus. If I don't keep her pruned, she gets like 4ft high and 6ft wide. She reaches out into the walkway and catches me all the time with those thorns! But, ya just can't beat all those massive clusters of blooms that last forever.

GYPSY CURIOSA - A gorgeous florist rose that changes shades and tones of apricot and red. She can be kinda stingy, but I just love this rose. Grows 30" x 2ft.

HEART O'GOLD - Big tall, excellent bloomer. Sometimes reaches 6ft x 3ft. Decent repeat.

KALEIDOSCOPE - There's a reason for the name! It really has a kaleidoscope of colors. Tans, mauves, pinks, apricot... Grows about 4-5ft x 3ft and repeats very well.

LOVE ME TENDER - I love the form on this one. And the coloring is so random. It can be white with a mauvey-pink edge or cream with a thin rim of bright pink. Sometimes it finishes out to mostly that mauvey-pink or will fade to all cream. It's about 30" x 30".

MEILLAND DECOR ARLEQUIN - I love this crazy rose. It's in a big ceramic pot and grows about 7ft tall and 2ft wide. The early spring blooms are often like this one, with red stippling on yellow or amber. Rest of the time it's a pinky-red with yellow reverse. Blows pretty fast tho.

NOSTALGIE - One of my favorite red and white roses. I love the way the red edges make the white center glow. Grows about 3ft x 2ft.

PAINTED MOON - This one is rarely out of bloom. The colors are constantly changing from apricot and red to orange and pink or amber and coral. Grows about 3ft x 3ft.

Sara Ann, I've always wanted to grow Brigadoon...and your gorgeous picture is making me want that one even more :) I'm not familiar with Seashell, but it's a beauty, too.

Ameri2nal, I almost ordered Escapade for this year, but read conflicting reports on blackspot resistance & fragrance. Yours is lovely...maybe I need to reconsider that one. Love your picture of Typhoo tea!

Beth, Not sure where to start with yours! I think MEILLAND DECOR ARLEQUIN is my favorite, and KALEIDOSCOPE, and GYPSY CURIOSA and PAINTED MOON...and all of them :)

Wow, I love them all, you all have some colorful beauties! Ameri, love your Cinco De Mayo! Beth, Gypsy Curiosa is so unique, Love Me Tender is so pretty and I love Painted Moon. Both Heart 'O Gold roses are so lovely. Pat , I also love Chris Evert, Coretta Scott King, Love and Peace and Gruss an Aachen and Nicole Carol Miller are both so lovely. SoFL, what a beautiful Heirloom bloom! Also really like your Livin' Easy and Dick Clark! They're all amazing!

Wow, those are some awesome pictures! BTW, I wouldn't recommend Escapade. Not enough fragrance, too much BS.

Distant Drums. Bonus is a spicy, clove fragrance. And Incognito, mauve and yellow mini.

I just did a quick mental check of the garden and most of the garden is is multi color and blends. I have multiples of all my HT's and Florabunda's(2,3 and 4 of each variety). Dark Night, Royal Amethyst, Remember Me, Louise Estes, Mavrik, Moonstone, Marlon's Day, Hot Cocoa, Charisma, Hannah Gorden. Shrubs; Distant Drums. I consider all of my Austins solid even though the blooms may change colors as they age. All of my OGR's are solid. Mini/miniflora's; Dr. John Dickman, Regina Lee, Tiffany Lynn, Joy Kathleen, First Choice, Ingred, Shameless, Conundrum, Leading Lady, Baldo Villigas, Renegade, Incogneto, Soroptimist International, Glowing Amber. I THINK that is all my multi colors and blends.

Oh, Soroptimist International! To me, it is one of the best minis. Also love Conundrum.

I tend to gravitate towards the bi-color and multi colored ones so I have quite a few. They fascinate me because every bloom cycle you can get a different look depending on the conditions they had to grow in. It always keeps the garden changing and interesting.

Bulls Eye can vary a lot in color saturation.

Brilliant Pink Iceberg is a mottled pink and white.

    Bella'roma has a dramatic coloring.

Baldo Villegas looks like a mini DD.

    California Dreamin

    Crescendo can have different looks.

    Dream Come True

Ken, sounds like you have a great collection of multi-colors. Those are all so lovely, Seil!

Thanks Sara-Ann and everyone for the beautiful pics. Actually I am really beginning to love bi-coloured roses too. I tend to buy them whenever I see them. I find they make the garden and roses more interesting as it catches the eye first. The ones I have or had is fourth of July, Scentimental and Peace (which died last year). I do have a yellow & orange bi-coloured rose whose name I have forgotten now. I loved it but it black spots like crazy. I moved it last season and hope it will revitalize this upcoming season.

I call these roses "transitional roses" as they serve as a link or transition between different colours.

Those of you who grow bulls eye, how tall does this one get?
