Bathroom renovation--finally

bathroom reno · More Info

Here is my before and after. I did all the design, tile, and stonework. It was my first true tiling experience and I really underestimated the time and difficulty. Hired the tub to be installed and glass. What was supposed to take a couple of weeks took me (and my husband) two months! But we learned a lot. As well, thanks to all who helped with advice along the way. (I am really bad at taking complete shots, so sorry for all the photos). As you can see, it started out pretty ugly when we moved in....

Really nice. How do you like that kind of shower head?

Thanks Gdlup. I like the shower head, overall. It's a Grohe and it has a nice flow, as it is large enough. We were kind of forced to go with the rainshower because I removed the full wall that used to be there (turning it into a knee wall) to open up the space. We then redirected the shower to the ceiling. I much prefer it this way and don't mind the rainshower at all.

Beautiful. We are starting a master bath remodel and I am already nervous, the tile guy comes on Sunday to discuss design.

Thanks so much, everyone for your kind words. It's really nice to hear your feedback, as I was really stressed that I would not be able to do it. The man at the place where we got tile told us, "just stop when you get tired"....that was good advice, but also why it took so long! I'm glad it's done, but already I am onto the next project (new counters ---Silestone Yukon Blanco and a new backsplash for my kitchen). I will do the tiling, and here is what I wish I could use....

Good luck on your master bathroom, Heide! I hope you get some great ideas...be sure to share.
