Humidifier

Every winter my Orchids are taking a beating and I'm pretty convinced it is because of dry conditions in my house as we have cold and dry winters. Finally this year I decided to add a humidifier to my grow area. went to local store and bought a warm mist humidifier but I'm not too crazy about the amount of mist it is generating. Would it make a difference for the orchids if I change that to a cold mist humidifier?

I'm in zone 5, home temps are 67 to 75 and the orchids are on a south east window.
