Scrolling down comments in ideabooks

How come the double tap doesn't work to get to the bottom of the comments? I'm talking in ideabooks in the app. When the comment section gets really long, it can be quite a pain to scroll.

Drdeb - that has never worked for me on my kindle, would have to scroll all the way thru when I was on the app. I only use the browser now on my kindle - rather annoying...

Recently I have found that too (although not when I posted a while back).

    DISAPPOINTING, Houzz people!!!

tgb1 with comments on a dilemma, a double tap does work on my ipad/iphone (once everything has loaded which can take a few seconds), but with comments in an ideabook it doesn't.

Dumb question - but what exactly are you double-tapping? The title?

not dumb. The bottom of the screen.

You can just imagine - I'm tapping away like a fool. I cannot find a way for it to work. Thanks anyway : (

it only works (at least for me) with dilemmas, on ipad/phone, and when using the app (not the website)

Have found the same problem! So annoying!
Me too! Also, when using the browser on an iPad, only the last four comments of a discussion show up. I can see the rest if I tap "see more comments," but it takes a really long time to load.
Hmmm, this week has been very bad. Very jerky. Tap and it will send me somewhere else:( dropping posts and doubling up on words! Then it will just go blank!!!

Tgb1, have you figured out the double tap yet? I found it by accident myself? If you are reading a long dilemma , once you get past the OP's opening explanation part and the opinions start , simply double tap and it will bring you to the bottom of the long thread so you don't have to scroll down.

The problem lynartist, is that that only works with comments in dilemmas. When there is an ideabook with lots of comments, the double tap doesn't work. I'd like them to get that working with ideabooks too.

I realize that. I thought tgb1 was having problems with it on dilemmas. I also find it annoying on ideas books! Very much so!

Lynartist - sorry just saw this - I rarely check 'using houzz' because I just get annoyed with stuff lol... Are u double-tapping on your iPhone or tablet and such? I won't even bother on my iPhone because the double (or triple or quadruple) tap just gets me either nowhere or it will advance forward a few posts. I just use the browser on my KINDLE for the same reason. Also, no dates show on comments when I'm using the app. Weird...

Hi tgb1, the double tap only works on dilemmas not when responding in IB. I do Houzz on the I- phone app. I have noticed that in IB the photos are larger and when posting tend to cut off your post mid way ! Very annoying!!! I have to go to my computer to read the whole post. In the dilemmas section the photos do not load in the order you post them! Also very annoying! But the double tap at least still works.

Hmm, Also, the dates do show on my phone though.

I'm never in ideabooks, and I do see dates on my iPhone, just not thru the app on my kindle. Double tap still not working for me on the iPhone. Could I possibly be tapping incorrectly???

Hmm, that's odd. Have you tried tapping past the initial question and once the discussion gets started? I find that's when it works best. Two light taps. If not you may have to reboot:)
I have an android tablet, and double-tapping using the app does nothing. There are also no dates next to the comments, only next to the OP.

Bookwoman- my KINDLE is the same way, which is why I always use the browser. The only advantage to the app is that you can still see full-size inspiration pics - which have been long gone on my laptop...

Wow, guess I'll stick with my phone. I like the format better anyway. Just hate the upgrades that always screw everything up!

    I agree, Lynn!
