dirt in pots can be very problematic ... and that is why a media is favored ...

where are you.. and are they in full sun ... or indoors?

and i dont quite understand .... if these are recently repotted ... if so.. it is most likely transplant shock and water management issues ... how do you water??

I figure out might also be watering issues because of clay type reddish brown soil. They are in full sun under some shade. So not under direct sunlight. I transplant into bigger pot 3 weeks ago. The top leaves now are also turning yellow, I am expecting it to also die soon...well this is an experience, that soil really matters. Be it growing medium or soil. Needs good drainage.

Currently living in Indonesia, in the tropics. Always hot but its in the rainy season now. I water by letting the soil get almost dry then deepwatering with a hose.

That looks like leaf scorch, caused by the leaf loosing water (moisture) faster than it can be replaced. While usually associated with a too dry soil, it can also be seen in soils that are too wet since the plants roots cannot move that moisture up into the plant.
