Should I move the worms

Hi,

I am using the second tray on my can o worms and have noticed a lot of worms under the food but still in the first tray, should i scoop them up and put them to the top of tray 2 or leave them?

Just let them move in when they are ready - they're probably just in the parts of the food that have broken down a bit more than the food on top.

Hummer/Charity - Since you both know more than I about worm management, I have a question. I just harvested 2 trays in December and my remaining food tray is full, but incompletely processed. I placed another tray on top and added a good layer of shredded newspaper. Since I am keeping it in a shed with just enough heat to prevent freezing, not a lot of work is getting done by the worms. I have a lot of kitchen scraps I want to feed. I have been adding the scraps to my garden using a dig, dump and cover method; but I want to feed them to my worm factory. Should I start feeding in the second tray before the first is processed?
