I have an 1816 home with a living/family room that is approx. 18x20 ft. Two of the walls have 2 windows each. The other two walls each have a doorway that sits diagonally from each other. This cuts the room diagonally in half because of how we need to walk through the room. We also have a FP and TV in the room (which ends up being the focal point). I've read a lot about pulling furniture away from the walls, but can't figure out how to make that work in the room or for that matter how to creat any harmonious layout. Help!
