Hi Mark Sidell,. What do you think of using both colors? One on top of wainscotting and one below the wainscotting?

I personally would stick to one colour because of all the other lovely details in the room... I like the mood of the darker colour as it adds to the richness '' OLD WORLD" feel of the room... I think two colours would be too distracting

What's the lightest color on the Bleeker Beige paint chip card? Can you add a photo of the two-color paint sample on top of your rug?

I would use a lighter color on the bottom so it would look like paneling and a darker color on the top. Enjoy!

Thanks for paint chip and rug photos. I think the Cameo White is a better color with your rug and the rich warm wood furniture than the Bleeker Beige. The latter seems a bit grimy next to Cameo White. That could just be a computer screen impression, real life is different. You might want to take your matted artwork down for a close look at the undertones in the mats. Another warmer beige may be better than Bleeker Beige. Look at the BM fandeck to see what they show with Cameo White. It's one of their classic colors. Or match the tan in the rug with a tan paint chip, then go one shade lighter on its card.

Another tip I read on Houzz is to prime really colorful walls in plain white to remove any reflections that cast color onto paint chips. Then it is much easier to finalize color choices.
