Typically the "edging" isn't a separate piece: it's just the visible part of the extruded frame channel that wraps around the edge of the glass. I've never seen a design where you can remove this and leave everything else in place. However, maybe there is something unique about the design of this custom enclosure that I am missing so a photo or two would help.

kudzu9, thank you. Sorry I don't have a photo, we are in the process of purchasing this house, so I don't have access to take photos yet. Maybe "edging" is not the right word, I meant the piece of metal that goes around the outside edge of the glass forming a border around the edges of the glass. It is visible from the outside and inside of the shower. It looks like it is caulked or has a rubber seal of some type to seal it to the glass.

Replace he whole glass unit. The labor to uninstall, unframe it, not break the glass, reframe it, and install would likely be double a new enclosure.

That is the actual frame of the unit, not easily replaceable as Green Designs states by the time you managed to take it apart, purchase the new frame and reinstall it, it would cost you more than a new unit and as he alluded to that is if you don't break anything.
