it depends on the finish of the wood. while auntiethelma has a fairly light shade the white looks good. in a darker wood finish the white pops rather alarmingly, which is why you arent seeing a lot of photos.

i'm sorry you are anti-stainless, i find it the best option with wood. i especially dislike black fridges.

the funny thing is, I have always seen SS appliances as belonging in a restaurant, not a home. Maybe because of the years spent working in restaurant kitchens, I just never took to the look.

I have white appliances with wood cabinets. Kitchen is a work in progress, but pics are in my "my pics" idea book. I think white helps brighten wood kitchens. It is not at all outdated as it continues to sell well and it probably is the most popular choice of those who, like me, do not like stainless. Stainless looks great in the show room and in a new home, but never quite as sleek when I see it in an open house. I have a vintage vibe to my kitchen and I also think the white looks better with that style.

jhmarie, pretty kitchen. When we did our kitchen, I was going for a beach house casual look and my husband was going for a Captain's House classic look. we ended up with maple and white.
