I want to replace some old windows. They are old so they have clear glass. The new windows have LoE-272 glass as the standard option. I enjoy indoor gardening, and have a number of plants by the windows. The windows face southeast but have a bit of tree shade in the summer. I am in a cold climate, so am not too concerned about too much sun. My bigger goal is to keep out the cold in the winter which the old windows are not doing very well.

Will the plants be able to thrive with the LoE-272 glass? Should I ask the contractor to do LoE-180 instead for my plants? I believe that change would be an upcharge because it is not standard. Will it even make a difference with my plants, or should I just have the standard LoE-272? TIA.
