Dear jess766. The large LR space that you have to work with is really great. I like the flooring, and the amount of natural light that you have there. You definitely need to incorporate color and texture there.

That large coffee table seems to work well there with the scale of the large sectional sofa. And the book shelves on either side of that fabulous fireplace are very functional. How about adding some texture by adding some colorful draperies, and some lively artwork, and a large rug to warm up the space. Colorful pillows and throws would help as well. Don't forget about layering in different types of lighting. See this article from the Huffington Post. I bet you'll find it helpful. Wishing you the very best! Have fun with it!

I would remove the bookshelves from beside the FP. They distract from the FP design. What does the 4th wall look like? Maybe place them side by side on the wall you didn't post a picture of. Get a large rug. The front legs of sectional should be on it. Paint the grill on FP wall same as wall color so it disappears. Get some panels for the windows.

Really? I'm loving the bookshelves :( I need help with side tables, lamps, curtains, artwork. We really like the restoration hardware look. Our couch on some pictures looks purple. It's definitely grey. I'll try to take better pictures later on.
