I got this plant about 3 years ago, and was able to coax single flowers once in a while from it, try as I might to do better. It lives in a 1 pint sealable tub in bright shade.

This past year it was badly ignored for long periods of time, and I hate to say I checked on it only occasionally. Luckily its little 'terrarium' was nearly hermetically sealed. The last time I checked was about 3 or 4 months ago when I added a tiny bit of water with very weak fertilizer, sealed it again and put it on a plant shelf, under an LED bulb, ~10" away.

About 10 days ago I checked on it, only to find multiple buds developing--did a little happy dance! Fortunately, my lack of attention had no adverse effect, but the slightly increased warmth and light, and perhaps the mild fertilizer, put the little guy in high gear--8 open flowers now, and one more on the way.

I had to show someone, and yes, it needs a better container!

I was unsuccessful in pollination attempts in previous years, so with extra flowers on hand, I carefully removed ~2/3 of the petals/sepals (?) of 1 flower, exposing the anthers and stigma. Using extra fine tweezers and a sharpened toothpick, I removed 1 pollen sac, and used the pollen on all the flowers, untrimmed, plus the trimmed one. It was so much easier being able to see the stigma, and make sure that pollen was applied. I may trim one more flower and try it again, just in case.

I'm guessing that the stronger light might increase the likelihood of producing seeds. I had thought that this species preferred lower light--but I guess not!
