I don't think you necessarily need to paint but to add a little interest you could paint the wall above the cabinets where the stove is and along the wall the fridge rests against. I'd also paint it two shades lighter than the color your designer suggested. Then bring it all together with new window coverings like @leelee suggested.

Another thought I had was to keep the white walls but put a long panoramic canvas with green in it above the wall with the oven/fridge. This is just a random picture I picked from Wayfair, but it comes in a maximize size of 2.5 feet x 7.5 feet. Thoughts?

Your kitchen is gorgeous! Maybe adding a darker wall would add contrast against the light counters and make your nice cabinets pop a little bit more!

Your kitchen is gorgeous! I wouldn't paint. You could inject color through accessories and window treatment. I'm not a fan of stuff on top of kitchen cabinets. But if you want to do it one large painting would be a good idea. If a mirror up there could reflect a view from an opposite window up there that could be nice too.
May I ask how much it cost to have your cabinets painted? The first quote I got was between 5500$ to 7500$. The second was 4000$. I have the same kitchen layout as you.

I first thought a pale contrast on top but I think adding three items on top of cabinets above refrigerator of different size, shape n color like driftwood, brown wood and copper and subtle window treatments and you are done. I love kitchen

If you like it white then leave it that way. It looks clean and fresh. The mural is an interesting idea. If it speaks to you go for it. There's nothing wrong with doing something unique and it would add some color. It will make choosing window coverings a little more work however.

I like the colour scheme in the second pic leelee posted. A nice Roman shade with pattern and some accessories and de-clutter the counters.a great rug oils be nice too.
