This photo is from a custom built new home. I can't answer your question about cost since the cost was factored into building this new home. Also, material and labor prices vary across the country so what we created in Iowa may be less or more expensive in another region.

    Hi Cassandra,

I copied this stunning and practical State Street Interiors design; We LOVE it and appreciated their help with answering questions as they have here for you. They are incredible!!

I can suggest, based on my experience, to first determine what type of fireplace you would like and if it is feasible for where in your home you wish to build. There are many options to choose from. Vented, Vent-less, difference sizes, styles, etc. A fireplace shop near your home can provide an in home consultation to help. Our fireplace company http://www.bowdensfireside.com/fireplace-products/gas-products/gas-fireplaces worked with skilled craftsmen that did the bookshelves, drawers, and A/V cabinet. We have a TV above our Mendota ML47 fireplace http://mendotahearth.com/modern-linear-fireplace-inspiration.php and speakers on the bookshelves and in the ceiling. Of course, our A/V specialist Square Peg http://www.squarepegav.com/about-us.html worked with the cabinet builders to ensure all connections were wired correctly. I hope this helps a bit with what steps you may take to learn the price. eljer

is that custom cabinetry on the sides or are those "out of the box" cabinets that you put in place??? Thanks!

To Ty White...sorry for late reply. I drew the design with dimensions and a cabinet maker made them and installed them.

Phurter and Joe & Pam: apologies for not seeing this sooner. I'm glad you like the stone. I saw it in a few places but found the best price on Amazon from an amazing supplier. Here is how it is listed on Amazon. Silver Travertine Ledger Stone Panel 6"x24"- 12 Pcs- 11.04 Sq.Ft.
    Brand: Elegance Marble

Hi what size is the fireplace insert?

    Nisha-
I’m conjecturing 47”? Here is what the invoice said: “Mendota Full View ML-47 MOD Linear Gas Fireplace - Black Reflective Panoramic Liner & Burner Airbox” I hope this helps. Eljer

Nisha- I just realized you may be asking this question to D’Andre, perhaps? Ours was linear so there was additional stone work underneath the lower edge of the fireplace. Their opening is larger. Apologies for jumping in to respond to an inquiry not intended for me. Eljer

Question for Noname and D’Andre, I’d love to recreate did as well, but not sure where to start. Did you first consult with a plumber for the installation of the fireplace or with a contractor for the brick and shelves? Thank you.

We went to the fireplace store and ordered the Mendota 47 linear fireplace and they assisted us with locating general contractors for the construction, plumbing (has connection) and electricity. Having a photo of what we wanted helped tremendously. Good luck.
