Repot and trunk chop at same time?

I have a Jaboticaba that is in horrible fully organic hard as rock soil. The drainage is terrible. After I bought the tree I left it alone for first couple of months, and then finally pruned is back a little last month. It has put out a lot of new growth since then, so the plant is still alive! Ha.

Come spring/summer I want to repot it into a better soil mix, but I also want to trunk chop it way down to start developing taper. What would be the best way to go about this?

A) Root prune and repot, then trunk chop later (how much later?)

B) Trunk chop, then root prune and repot at some other time (how much later?)

C) Root prune, repot, and trunk chop all at the same time

D) Something else?
