stdybala- It looks like you are planning to build out the fireplace area. Why don't you have your electrician tuck them in a sleeve behind the wall?

That's what we did. We didn't do this with a fireplace, but could have. We built out part of our living room, and put shelving on either side. Above the "fireplace" area (it's not a fireplace though, but it could have been), we made little holes for videos and games, and on the sides we put in recessed outlets. Cut a hole behind where the TV goes, and cut holes above the outlets, ran the wires behind and plugged everything on the sides. Everything nice and tucked away. lemme see if I can find a picture or two.

Thanks for the comments. My dad is building it for us, he used to be an electrician. I just needed some outside ideas of how to go about hiding them. I like the idea doodlebee's pictures of her fireplace how it's all cohesive. Thanks!
