1. could be Aspidistra, "Cast Iron Plant" Looks like the frost got it a little, it should put out new leaves this spring. Also looks like it needs a little food.

2. Idk. could use a better pic of the whole plant. Maybe some kind of laurel.

3. Platanus racemosa, "CA sycamore". I think, bark and growth pattern looks like it. Plus it would be bare this time of year. Good tree.

4. Hard to tell as the pic is back lit, but I'm inclined to a Fraxinus uhedi, "Evergreen Ash" Needs some corrective pruning work, imo.

5. A Calistemon, "Bottle Brush" but as to which one, need a pic of the whole plant. Some are large tree like, others smaller bush like.

6.Another Ash of some kind. Looks like a self sown seedling.

7l. I'd guess some kind of Ficus tree. squarish leaf and smooth bark will be your best clues.

8. Nandina, "Heavenly bamboo". Not a true bamboo though, well behaved. So many varieties though, hard to say which. It depends on how large it is. There are dwarf and full sized ones.

9. Probably a small Phormium, but also could be a Cordyline that looks more phormium-ish. If it stays a clump, phormium, if it gets a trunk, cordyline. Tons of varieties of both.

10. Small bush type of Lantana.

11. Calistemon,"Little John". A nice dwarf variety of Bottlebrush. Gets about 3' tall/wide. Maybe a little more.

12. This is super familiar, but I'm blanking on it. A low water use perennial, I know. I can ask a friend who knows tons more about perennials than I.

13.Also super familiar. I think it's in the rush family. If I remember, I'll add it.

14. Gallardia, "Blanket Flower" Looks like one of the Dwarf kind.

15. Buddlia, a Dwarf kind. Several kinds out there now. The foliage in the middle may be new spring growth.

16. I think this is a Tulbaghia violecea, "Society Garlic". But it's out of bloom now, if it is. Look for small purple or white flowers in summer.

17. I think this could be Agapanthus, "Lily of the Nile", also not in bloom now. Has a purple/blue flower on a long stalk in mid-summer.

18. Yes, could be the same. Still better to wait for the flower for ID. Actually looking closer, it's probably a Daylily. Most likely "Stella de Ore", a yellow flower in early summer, evergreen, dwarf kind.
