Most look healthy to me. The B.C. Macai Miyumi HOC looks stressed. Maybe too much sun and not enough water?

I see some fungal stuff going on. You could spray them with a fungicide.

I really don't see disease. I wouldn't worry about them.

If it is not diseased, that is great! How about the other one? Could you tell? She said she got this disease from buying the orchids from an orchid show long time ago and the orchids came from Taiwan. All her phals are toaseted! If her catts are good, she'll give them to me when she moved in senior home. What is the name of the spray for fungicide?

The last picture looks suspicious but is hard to tell do you see more leaves like that one?. Show a picture of the plant completely. There are kits to test the leave for viruses. If you get it put it on the side far from yours. Do a repot clean the plants and watch it for a couple of months. They look good except dehydrated, need more light and need a repot.

That leaf looks like a fungal infection. Nothing serious. Just get a copper fungicide and spray. Those spots won't go away but it will keep it from spreading to new leaves. My orchids, in Florida always have fungus problems due to high humidity and poor air flow. They grow and flower, just don't look good.

The plants don't look virused to me. I think they just need some good care. You can do that!

Thank you Jane. This is good news to me and to her too. I'll get the spray to do that for her. I think you're right. She's 87 years old. She had been growing orchids for over 30 years. She doesn't remember to take care of them. Most of the time, they are too dry and over grown. I promised I'll split and repot them for her when spring comes.

Hi Friends especially Jane and Yeni,

I got the orchids and keep them in my livingroom, separate from my own for a week already. I got the (Safer's 3 in 1) and sprayed them. It doesn't say on the instruction how often I have to spray. So, I need you Jane, how often do I need to spray them and when can I put them in the sun room with my other orchids. My living room is facing west. I have octopus lights on for them but it is cool in this room. Only 17 or 18 degrees during the day and 16 or 17 during the night. Barely any sun shine in in the afternoon west sun yet and I think they like a bit warmer. My sun room is 21 degrees during the day and down to 15 or 14 during the night. Please help let me know. Thank you.

Do you know when would be okay for me to put these new (sprayed) orchids in the sun room with the other healthy ones? What sign(s) should I look for to know that they are okay? At the moment I see some black spots and some black streak in the middle of the leaves of both kind of orchids. I know those will not go away but how can I tell they are healthy?

Tanie if those were mine i wait at least a month before putting them together you will probably need more than one application. I got two orchids from a friend and both are in opposite way from my orchids...lol...like in timeout..lol..

Can you post pictures of the black spots? Are they new?

Do they have air circulation?

I was too anxious and all day today, between spraying them and rearranged the sunroom for them. I put them all together now. Pray that they will be okay. There's no new black spots. Just the old spots.. I think! Too many of them I can't inspect them all. Only 2 kind of Catts but I divided into 10 pots.. 7 of them are B.C. Miyumi and 3 of them are L.C. Japhette. I was worry that the living is too cold for them. Right now the sun is shinning in but only for about an hours. When the sun is shining in, tempt will raise about 2 degrees. Otherwise, it's only 18 degrees in my living room. My sun room is right now 22 degrees eventhough it's facing east. Should I move them back in the livingroom?

Wow tanie ... I think that is to cold for cattleya.. Lets hope someone can jump here and help you my growing conditions is hot usually 75 F up ... But i think they shoul be in a warm place not lower than 50 F for cattleya .... Hopefully they will be ok together

I hope you are talking about Celsius. I just converted 50F is a bit over 12 C. My living room is about 65 to 66 F and that was why I was in a rush to move them to sun room. My sun room at night when it's cold out is about 14 C to 16 C. Seldom goes down to 12 C. unless it's -10 or below that. Your condition is about 23 C. and up. Tempt for my sun room will be like that in summer or at least spring. We are having a very warm winter here in Canada especially where I live.

Yes, tanie .... Keep us updated how they aredoing i think you will be ok if you don't have some air circulation put a fan to the orchids it help a lot ...good luck.
