Juicer / Strainers

I'm in the market for a juicer / strainer that will fit on a grinder. My cousin brought hers over to do tomatoes and it worked well enough. It fits on the front of a Kitchenaid mixer. I don't have a mixer like that. I'd like to find one that fits on a #12 grinder. My cousin's made a mess. And the several I looked at on line look messy too. LEM has a nice looking, well contained juicer, but I don't want to have to buy another grinder just for that option. Another consideration is the use. I'd like to be able to do more than just tomatoes. Thanks for any ideas. If this is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it. Or if there's a discussion already, maybe I can get a link?

Cabelas's has one but I don't know if it would be adaptable to your brand of grinder or not. If your brand doesn't offer the attachment then likely it isn't available. But consider that for the cost of the attachment you could easily buy one of the more commonly used tomato mills like Victorio or Roma with the extra screens for other foods and still save money.

I saw a Youtube video of the one from Cabelas. They had to fashion a splatter shield out of tin foil and it still looked messy. After reading here and reviews on Amazon, I'm going to try a Victorio 250. I got to thinking that the toughest thing I'd put through it would probably be apples, and they don't seem too difficult to do by hand. I like that I can get the strainer and the extra screens for under $100. Thanks everyone for posting. It really helps the uninformed make better decisions.

I have both. I have the kitchenaid strainer attachment that fits on my mixer's grinder attachment. I also have the Roma with all the extra screens. Both have their uses. Honestly, the kitchenaid has the easier cleanup. It is also a lot faster. The advantage of the Roma is the kit with extra screens. The kitchenaid does not handle my blackberries well. Because my mixer stays on the counter all the time, it is quite easy to pop on the attachment for even small jobs. The Roma has to come out of hiding and get put together. I think I've only used the roma once or twice since getting the strainer attachment for the kitchenaid.

Edited to add: After noting the comment about the mess, I do not find that using the kitchenaid strainer attachment to make a mess at all. It has a splatter screen that goes on the top. Put a bowl or large container to catch the product and another to catch the waste. For the Roma and the Kitchenaid, you may occasionally have to disassemble it to clear the screen and then resume. Depending on what your running through it, it may get clogged up. It seems that I have had to do that on the Kitchenaid less than with the Roma, but it may have just been the difference in what product I was running through it at the time.
