I would go with the woven wood, if you need to cover them at all. I have both woven woods and white wood blinds in my house, and the white wood blinds are a cleaning nightmare....

interesting you say that, tgb. the sales person advised the faux wood would be easiest to deal with, esp in a kitchen where it can get splashed with water.

For the two "spare" rooms - office and guest room, we were considering the faux wood blinds but now having second thoughts. If they're going to be hard to take care of, maybe go back to considering the honeycomb in a neutral color (grey of beige)?

Mary, all I know is that my woven woods I can dust just by swiping them with a long duster. Each slat of the white wood blinds has to be cleaned, and the tapes and cords get in the way, no comparison. I can also dust my silhouette-type shades very easily.

thanks tgb. that's good information. I don't like house cleaning so easy maintenance is a priority for me.

so I thought I could turn my husband around. I'd talked him into changing from woven wood to the white blinds. Then I changed my mind and wanted to to back to the wovens. We had multiple people in the house and I wanted to get the window treatment order done so I compromised and went with the blinds.

Now I'm regretting it. Thinking of changing the order and getting the wovens if it's not too late. But DH thinks for consistency we should have the blinds. We will have white shutters in the MBR and white blinds in the two guest rooms.

The open floor plan great room adjacent to the kitchen will have white side curtains.

So does he have a point? Will having woven wood on only one window in the house be off?

We went with the blinds. Plain but a nice clean look.
