Considering that you appear to already have lucite bar stools adjacent to the dinning area, a more modern kitchen and more traditional credenza flanking the dining area, I agree that warmer would be better. You also have allot of textures between the woven grass rug, wood floor, tree branch base and concrete so I recommend an upholstered leather or fabric.

Depending on the full size of the room, you should still see the accent of the base with sophisticated thin legs and still have the comfort and grace of leather.

I had considered leather, but a more earthy leather, however those chairs are so expensive! ($699) I found a kiwi green leather chair by chair tech but it has a history
of breaking down so even though it's on offer no one reccomends it:( ($99)The lucite chair pictured here is the one I'm thinking about but something doesn't feel right. I feel the need for warmth. Ideally a chair that has a fabric seat as I have located a fabric I real like but it's super expensive. I'm also attaching a few more pics of other items in the same room so you can get the feel and maybe it will help with thoughts?

Designers are hunters. If you share the dream fabric with us we can probably find it or a near match for you. I have to say though, I see it often that client regret getting anything very "cheep" in a chair. They take allot of use, food, moving around. Where your larger fixtures will not need to stand the test of time as strong. Your home is beautiful and I love you eclectic elegance. Follow your gut on the look first. But don't pass on quality in seating. Do you entertain allot? The hard chairs are uncomfortable for those of us with lean tushes. :) Leather also wears incredibly well and cleans so easily. I deal with Lux Hotels mostly so I push letter for the return on investment and eco sustainability.

I do like to entertain and this is also our 'kitchen' table. I have located the fabric in the UK for 50% less!! However it's still $150 a meter. What can I say I have expensive taste. Spent all my money on the damn table;) I think the brown leather chair will add to the eclectic look and also be comfortable but at that price I need to see it in person. I like the stainless or silver legs as they look a little brighter and modern but we have a lot going in design wise and I think using the same element that I have under the walnut cabinet with the dark legs will quieten things a little. The worn brown leather also ties in with the barn wood look and the 'western' feel #ParkCity Utah. I'm trying to use a good mix of 'masculine' and 'feminine' elements. My one thing that is lacking is color. I have some orinental rugs and we will be having a gorgeous colorful piece of art made for the barnwood wall above the dresser. I'll dress it up with colorful napkins I guess;) Longing for some kiwi green some where and some fun playful elements. Thank you for your input. Thankfully my husband is a fan of leather so the extra price won't be such a factor. Just concerened about the business around the legs with that gorgeous nickel base. Should have used this for a lovely entry way or something. We approach the dining room via stairs and so it's the first thing you see when you enter room. I'll try to space the chairs opportunistically around the table.

There is usually a creative way to make toast meet durability, quality and a reasonable price point. And yes, there are the items that no alternative will suffice and in the case your table won the day! :)

I agree with the darker legs. I caution against the armed metal chair with allot of use at a concrete table. Those arms and concrete are mean to each other and human parts between. Lets put out the hunt for "worn leather, rubbed bronze or dark mettle base or espresso brown hardwood chairs from a vendor you can visit in your area or that has shipping returns on a single chair first? Most of the discount sites are final sale. I'll look around but it sounds like you are honing in on the best fit.

Angel the table isn't top heavy at all. However it is very heavy and won't be moved now it's in place.

whether its stable or not, it does visually appear top heavy. to pair with it, go with a chair that is visually bottom heavy, to lower the over all center of gravity... so, upholstered seat with an open metal back, perhaps.

maybe bring the lucite into the back only....

Where do I find this chair? I just realized the photo of the table is destorted because I took it vertically and the site turned it horizontally so making it look top heavy. I like the chair you posted because I could use fabric that I like on the seats.

You could use the lucite chairs and warm them up/ make them more comfortable / add color with customized seat cushions in your fabric choice.

I thought about that but I think they would slip around a lot and then I'm not sure I want to stick velcro to the chair. The chair that was just posted by nnigrt would look great I think with my fabric on the seats. The lucite back appears to have a green hint to it though and my lucite bar stools have no color and they might not work together

I have actually done the cushions on the lucite chairs. (Unfortunately no pics). I had the upholsterer put a coordinating band underneath to prevent slippage. In other words slip it on and snap underneath. Because it's lucite, it really looked like part of the original design. But enough about that. I do like the chair pictured above that's been recommended and think it will work well. So you have a sample of your fabric

I must add, that after seeing some of your other pictures, you have lovely taste.

Also, that we cannot always trust pictures posted on houzz. I know I have taken a few pictures of my home and some of them look awful compared to real life.

Thank you so much. These are all my pics, mostly taken by me with an iPhone. Many of the Accra Elegance pics were taken by a professional photographer as that project was over time and I had unlimited access. That was actually the house that I had the cushions made for the ghost chairs after deciding to use them both in and outdoor.

Those chairs look great there. Makes me want to do the lucite chairs. Do you know how they hold up with scratches? The ones on the floor at IKEA are really scratched, but I'm wondering if they use a cheaper kind of plastic that scratches more easily?

sorry, missed the continuation of this thread. not sure where the chair was from but i found it by doing an image search for 'upholstered metal back dining chair' at google.
