We want to replace our oak fireplace surround and mantle. We are looking at getting MSI ledger stone in Golden Honey and a barn beam mantle. We are having trouble deciding how far the stone should go up the wall, however, as there is a large window directly above the fireplace. Should we continue the stone above the mantle or should we cap the stone with the mantle? Any ideas?
