here the situation. Found a try from my childhood that could be a golden/transparent gage. It's a sucker from old root system.

looks like it should fruit. It's at least 6-8 years old but has black knot.

Want to see if it flowers and sets fruit. Anyway to tell if that might happen? Had to be about 12' tall.

did dormant spray and just bought fungicide. There are some galls on the main leader. I tried cutting some off for now knowing it's only a temp fix burned the galls, sterilize all knives and clippers (used to workin microbiology)

IF it sets fruit and IF it's a golden gage, I'll chop it back to 3' or so to get rid of the bulk of the infection.

If if that doesn't happen it's getting ripped out and burned.

It it doesn't look like there's much if any new swellings coming for this years black knot starting to think the knots are all quite old

Anyone have any suggestions?
