    Hello my little ones!!!

    Ruby, you stole my thunder!!

Mine has only one bloom though..oh well

Then I have these: Phalaenopsis javanica with perfumy scent in the morning till afternoon - the blooms are tiny, like 2cm!

and coelogyne punctulata with incredible cinnamon/perfumy scent in the same time span

and then there is the march balcony of course:

    wild fresias

    lily of the valley

and my old time favourite peach tree (I think the variety is Maria Bianca) with a light beautiful scent

Your KS Jade Green is beautiful fenius! Looks so plump and full! I hope you like the scent?

I do Ruby, very much.. but like you, I find it changes a little throughout the day and also I think it is better outside for some reason!

Fenius, I had no idea peach blossoms can smell. That's nice to know. As long as they don't smell like those Bradford pears that is over-planted everywhere here.

Ok, I cheated and bought this Aerangis fastuosa in bloom at an orchid show today. The scent on it is AMAZING! It's a lot like a gardenia with some jasmine overtones. Where has this little plant been all my life. The scent is ever-present and strong throughout the day. The vendor said it becomes even stronger at night. How about that.

Updating with pics of nasturtiums. I've tried different mixes and found these grown from cheapo seed packs are particularly fragrant. They have a medium scent that is somewhat like modern petunia

Hey Dar! We don't have Bradford pears so I can't tell. Here, the city is full of those dark ornamental plums that are in full bloom now.. They have a light floral scent but the peach scent is better, more like an almond tree. Love your orchid window, are you going to mount the aerangis on a branch, too? A friend of mine has a really pretty one and it blooms every year, must be one of the easiest aerangis to bloom.

Ugh. Adding another orchid to my want list. Thanks, Dar! ;)

Love the nasturtiums colors! That should help draw hummingbirds to the yard and extra bonus for the scent plus the blooms are edible. :)

Fenius, love the kitty. Hope nothing was growing in that pot!

My ratty looking freesias are finally starting to open. Loving the fruity freshly ground black pepper scent.

It's been a while since I've had anything to post.

The rain has stopped so I ran out to take pictures. Everyone's a little worse for wear.

    Unknown yellow rose.

Grace looking terrible but smell great.

    This freesia.

    Yves pagait. Smelling anisey.

    Twilight zone looking sad.

    Noid cymbidium with light fragrance.

    Dauben water lily peaking out.

Ordphien, glad to see you back.

Robert, I love nibbling on nasturtium flowers before I get in the car to drive to work. It's so spicy like wasabi. And I think you will love Aerangis fastuosum. One plus is the flowers seem to last a really long time.

Fenius, Bradford pears smell a lot like Gingko biloba trees. Thankfully they are only in bloom for about a couple of weeks or so.

The orchid lantern thing is inspired of Ordphien's old posts. I figure they can't fail in the lanterns. Last year, I lost a lot of orchids due to being knocked over and me forgetting about them. I figure in the lanterns, I got two things easily under control; They are in a stable and humid environment. I can't possibly kill them right? We'll see.

I am thinking of mounting the Aerangis onto a big piece of wood or lava rock like what Ordphien did.

The 'Prairie Fire' crabapple is starting to bloom. I can already smell the light apple blossom scent and start to hear the buzzing of the bees.

Wow robert!! I am really going to miss my cardinal crapapple that I lost last summer in a heat wave..I have to find more next year. I need to find Ordphien's old orchid posts that I seem to have missed, any idea how to search for them??

    And a few extras

matthiola sinuata, a wild form here in greece that has a very strong fragrance at night

some type of skimmia, a present from a friend who passed away last year so I really cherish this year's blooming and scent..

    magnolia fairy blush

and two species freesias I grew from seed!!!

freesia leichtinii, (strong scent! kind of similar to the common wild ones I posted above but with purple streaks)

and freesia laxa blue (I detect no scent, neither do I know if it is supposed to have any but did I mention I grew it from seed?!!)

Beautiful, Fenius! Congrats on having the patience to grow things from seeds. I'm trying to have some with annuals this year. :)

I tend to forget about the crabapple until it bursts into bloom and fills the yard around it with its scent.

I was surprised to discover my Bidens ferulifolia 'Goldilocks Rocks' that I got to attract wildlife has a classic daisy scent that reminds me of Coreopsis lanceolata or C. grandiflora. It's hard not to smile at such cherry yellow blooms.

Freesias are the fastest bulb from seed, Robert and can bloom on the second year! Mine took 3 years though..

Fenius, its in the October 2014 thread. You can find it easily if you search on here for "Haraella".

Dar. If you have any questions about the lantern I'd be more then than happy to help.

Jasmine season is here! I'm extremely excited.

I can never resist buying stock at the nurseries in spring. It's a cheap delight for the nose.

And is it just me that thinks hollies smell similar to citrus when they bloom? The pollinators sure do love Nellie R. Stevens. :)

Lc. Purple cascade...cheated and bought in bud. Smells like roses with strong tones of soy sauce?! Scent is most strong in the day time.

Aahhh weather is so nice this week. C. armandii is crazy after a mild winter, just solid masses of buds now opening right outside my bedroom window

After an abusive, hot and humid summer last year...this Miltie is ready to bloom his head off...guess they are not as finicky as I would have guessed. Seems indestructable. Herralexander is supposed to be one of the more fragrant...we shall see in a few days....

Really opening now...but sadly for a very fragrant variety...5 days in and no scent at all since first flower matured....makes me sad...

how can it be that my clematis armandii hasn't started yet here???? so jealous! Blutayle I can totally relate, I have a dendrobium lituiflorum blooming for a week and there is no scent, don't know if I got really unlucky with the cultivar or give it another year... Disappointment! Anyway here are the best scents on my balcony right now, brought on our table.

I hear you all about the orchid scent being disappointments. I just bought two Cattleya hybrids and they arrived without any scent. They're both described as 'fragrant' and one of them even uses it as their clone name. *sigh* I guess I will have to wait until next blooming.

Can it be that my armandii has grown more fragrant now that it's more mature? Or perhaps it's the concentration due to the masses of flowers? Anyway the fragrance is amazing this year. Really sweet, pure, and wafting. Made my chores in the garden today quite pleasant!

The honeysuckle at are in full glory now. And I am going orchid-crazy now. This Den nobile has a light scent so far, but I really love the scent profile. It is a little bit like honeysuckle coincidentally.

Ooh what honeysuckle is that? I'm looking to replace mine

Garden is in its spring glory days right now, and it's been sunny all week. Which means an incredible fragrance smorgasbord:)

Neighbours have been playing basketball several nights in a row -they said it's just to smell the maudiae which fills the lane.

In the front, there's the perfume of viburnum carlesii

Camellia 'Fairy Blush' has only a faint scent but is so beautiful

Lots of daphne still going strong. Here is 'Aureomarginata'

Alas, camellia 'Debbie' has no scent but is so awesome nevertheless
