These cabinets are indeed laminate cabinets. This laminate is Pear Wood by Wilsonart. The newer high pressure laminates that are now available via Wilsonart and a few other companies are superb for bathroom settings. They will react far less to moisture then your standard solid wood products. Laminates have had a bad reputation in the past stemming from peeling after a long period of time. Fortunately the products, as well as the fabrication process have changed drastically eradicating all traces of the older known problems.
