Seed starting for shade lovers

I just purchased some coleus and pink hypoestes plants for use as house plants and for shady spots near my house. I'd like to start them indoors to get a jump start. I have lights set up now to be on for about 16 hrs per day for my other sun-loving seedlings.

Can I use this same set up for the shade lovers to get them started? Or would they be better off in a windowsill that only gets 4-5 hrs of direct sun per day?
