SFG Newbie :)
Hello :) I have a small yard and would like to give square foot gardening a try and just would like some input. I would like to make two raised beds (not sure on size yet) out of cinder blocks. I also have a patio with some lattice on the side that I was thinking of using as a trellis to plant some melons. This would be separate from the raised beds. I was thinking of using Kellogs Raised Bed and Potting Mix, and was also thinking of planting some flowers like marigolds and some herbs in some of the holes of the blocks.
Here are some things I'd like to grow:
Bush Beans, eggplant, bell peppers, jalapeños, pickling cucumbers, beets, romaine lettuce, strawberries. I was also thinking of planting some garlic, onions, and carrots in containers.
I have a yellow thumb. lol I can grow flowers pretty well. It get's into the 100's in the summer where I live. After the heat a lot of things die. I haven't had much luck with fruits or vegetables and would really like to be able to grow some. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated. :)
