Not sure if they are edible, but the bees sure love them! Mine have bloomed nicely for the last 3 years.

I got them on mine too..I have never seen that either. I am leaving it alone just to see what happens.....

Mine is covered with blooms. It started blooming early February and now its intense. Third year for blooms, its a big bush about 3ft x 3ft with light purple blooms.

I think the flowers are edible but you're supposed to remove the calyx before eating them. I don't know why. My rosemary began blooming in early or mid-February and it is blooming blue flowers. Or, maybe my eyes are old and they are purple, pink or white. Different rosemary varieties bloom in different colors, and some bloom in summer or fall instead of late winter/early spring.
