PS this is the kitchen.

Redoing floors a few shades darker, adding white/greyish countertops, replacing with tiled backsplash (probably white subway tiles) replacing lighting with a chandelier type light. Maybe adding beams to ceiling. Grey or white cabinets!??!?! Help!!!

White kitchens are more classic to me than grey. I'd do white with grey island

Both:white upper's and grey on the lower and the island.

Both are very nice. If you have a lot of cabinetry, I would probably go with white and then choose special hardware. Photo above is quartz with white cabinetry; photo below is Martha Stewart gray cabinetry. I also like mixing cabinetry, although this may be trendy and could date a house in the future. Floor tone and counter tone should be close. If floors are to be dark then choose quartz that is not white. I would not paint the cabinets. They look fine.
