Are all the cabinets maple and then stained cotton and pecan ? Never understand why anyone chooses a specific wood then stains it to look like another wood

Why someone, you mean me, I suppose, would choose a specific wood and then paint or stain it is due to personal preference and budget. I have had and loved beautiful cherry cabinets and countertops for 35 years and am looking for something completely different in my new house. The cotton is a painted color yes and I’m not a lover of light maple wood. I came here looking for assistance not attitude @patriciacolwellconsulting.
