I know high ceilings can be daunting, but they are a blessing too.

You anchored the room with a rug, but you still need to anchor the window to the floor. I would suggest that you choose a curtain / window treatment that can do that for you and make the eye only go up to the end curtain, that brings the eye to a stopping point and not go all the way to the ceiling. Please use a contrasting color to your walls, but that works with your furniture.

If your windows goes all the way to the ceiling, you might think about hanging them at 96" or 84" depending on what works with the grids of the window. I would steer away from hanging floor to ceiling drapes, as that will draw the eye all the way to the ceiling.

Art can be large in scale but not so large as it feels like you're over powering the furniture... Usually I would buy furniture with higher backs in the high ceiling space, as that will scale better, but you loved what you have. Choose your art the width of the couch and maybe as high as the couch is off the floor, so maybe 5' X 3'. That way it anchors the room again bringing the eye only up so far.

As to tables, you can use side tables on either side of the couch with reading lamps on them. Keep to the scale of the room.

Hmm definitely a good idea if u hang your curtains from floor to as much high as u want. It elevates the vision and compliments your windows. Sheer is a good idea as it does not hide your window. But, if you want more privacy you can go with linen as well.
