Yep - that's correct about the recliners. I tried that and if I put the sofa in front of the door, it feels closed off - like it obstructs the flow of traffic and I tried the sofa on the other side and that feels funky, too. Hence my dilemma. I'll try to move it and re-post a pic so you can see.

Which seating are you using for tv watching? I assume the recliners, which should be placed side by side facing the tv. Do the recliners swivel?

We moved two years ago and it took me almost two years to admit that my furniture wasn't fitting right and I really had to replace it. The old furniture worked ok, but just didn't fit right in the new house. I think you have a similar issue.

I bought a smaller scale sectional with recliners on each end. I'm happy. He's happy and the room is much happier. You can live with this arrangement, but when the stress of moving fades, you might consider a new set in a smaller scale.

Agree with auntthelma; your furniture is too big for the room. In an ideal world something smaller scale would have been better. But it does look much better as it is now. As long as it functions for you.
