Godmorgon with custom countertop possible?

Has anyone done this? I'd like to put 3 IKEA Godmorgon cabs (23-5/8" each) next to each other on a 72" wall. Then I would like a custom 72" countertop mounted on top of that, with a rectangular undermount sink in the center. The sink is 8-1/8" high. I realize this will make the Godmorgon drawer directly under the sink unusable.

If this will work, the cabinets would run $300 vs. $1500-2200 for custom. Really nice semihandmade.com drawer fronts would run another $480. I'm still way ahead.

I've found the staff at semihandmade are happy to answer questions like this. It does seem like you could either do an undermount sink (losing use of at least the top drawer), or a vessel sink (perhaps allowing use of the bottom drawer). See this document. A handy carpenter might even be able to do some custom cut out of the drawers in the sink cabinet to retain a bit of storage.

Yes, it can be done. There used to be detailed directions at ikeafans, but I do still have some of the photos:

Hi @ymm - did you ever complete your project? I would like to do the exact same thing in my house remodel - 3 sinks for my 3 kids, since we only have 1 kid bathroom. Would love to see what you ended up doing and how you worked out the custom countertops and which undermount sink you found worked out.

As pictured above, the drawers below the sink(s) do not become unusable, they have the back of the drawer cut a bit and work just fine.

If you did vessel sinks I believe the vanity height will need to be lowered so that the lip of the sink is at vanity height.

That would be sensible, but it's not all that common, at least in my experience. One reason I dislike the vessels I've encountered is that I always have to reach up and over to use them.

Acosta, did you get this accomplished? I am looking to potentially use the exact same set-up of 3 IKEA Godmorgon cabs (23-5/8" each) next to each other on a 72" wall. Looks like I would need a custom countertop then and considering quartz. Anybody know whether this set-up can support a quartz top if no legs are used? Any tips appreciated.

Same here. Thinking of combining two 31" Godmorgons and would love to use a custom counter with recessed or undermounted sinks. Any ideas on how this could be done?
