Love it! That would make an adorable centerpiece for a springtime luncheon or shower.

I've done the same by painting them with acrylic craft paint and they do look beautiful! I wanted to cut off my pinecones though, but it was too difficult so that's where I gave up.

Cute! I just raked up a mountain of pine cones from my lawn today.

A friend used to make pinecone wreaths and I remember her mentioning that pine cones have to be de-wormed (some how treated for worms?) before they are used for crafts?

    Interesting! Worms! Yikes!

I just Googled - says you have to bake pinecones to remove bugs before using in crafts. Those zinnia ones are certainly beautiful!

Honestly, people are so flipping clever and inventive that I sit back in amazement. What a great idea!

I've baked them for crafts many times - makes the house smell wonderful! Baking also makes them shiny.

Those are cute! And I was glad not to see peanut butter or bird seed (even if this isn't the forum most likely).

Wow, how clever and cute! I am not crafty but I think even I could do that! I could supply you all with a bag of pine cones.

What a great idea. I have tons of pine trees but don't get nice pine cones. I may look at Michaels and try to do this!

    Isn't that sweet!

Amazing how closely they resemble zinnias.

A few years ago I bought this carrot pine cone wreath from Etsy.

We use pine cones for art crafts and bird feeders. For indoor use, simply soak the cones under a mix of 50/50 water and white vinegar for 30 minutes to drown the bugs. Chalk paint is my favorite way to color them, along with a spray on topcoat to preserve the finish. My granddaughter loves anything that sparkles, so I top coat hers with Krylon glitter coat.

My friend made the zinnia pine cones and they look fantastic! She has them in a felted basket on her kitchen island. Gee, I hope she de-bugged them first!

The carrot wreath is clever and cute too. A friend posted a wreath done with the zinnia panted ones and greenery,

My squirrels seem to tear up all the pinecones around here -- the cars flatten the rest. I will have to go hunting if I want to try any of these.

I don't have to leave my yard to find enough for an arrangement...thank you.
