Help with Dutch Irises

Irises are my favorite flower and I made it my goal to buy more for my garden. I bought a mix of 100 dutch irises this past fall and planted them in November because I couldn't find the time before and it was rather warm for that time of the year. The temperature caused them to break dormancy pretty quickly and they were fine up until the snow in January kicked in. The tops of the irises look dead and ragged, but there's still green on the bottom. Do you think they'll be ok?

Dutch Iris seem to be forgiving souls. I suspect they will continue to try and do their thing, which might not be as grand as usual, but I doubt it will affect them in later years.

I don't know what will happen to yours, but I know that gardeners all across the US have experienced the same thing as you have. I hope it turns out ok for you.

I guess what we'll just have to wait see what happens. The warm weather may be nice, but I can't say I'm fan of global warming.

Mine look just the same. This is my first year growing these, but I think they will be fine. I have early daffodil foliage that came up early and got frost bitten and it's blooming now.

Good to hear! My daffodils are coming up fine too, as are the lilac wonder tulips and brodiaea that I bought. I'm a little concerned about the crocuses though, I haven't seen much of them, but I'm sure they'll pull through

Only tried once. Bloomed beautifully, and never came back. I would look to the climate of origin, even though the Dutch have such success. They did not originate, in wild form, in Holland.
