I personally am not keen on the brown shutters. I think black would be better, I also would replace the screen door with a full glass storm door and possibly a nice flowering hanging plant at the porch or flower box at first floor window. After that you start to get into pricey options like replacing the roof, creating dormers and redoing the walkway.

I would remove the shutters totally and beef up around the windows.

New front door and steps as above. Old bushes need to be taken out and new landscaping installed.

I'm not keen on the ship utters AT ALL! They don't fit on this house, and don't even look like they'd cover the windows if they were real, which they aren't. I'd take them off and beef up the trim. Also not a fan of the yellow paint, but with an linen-colored trim it would tone the bright yellow down a bit. I agree with removing the dated screen door and going for a clear glass door. Also consider adding a Craftsman-style porch light to the side of the front door, with some craftsman-style house numbers below it, and a potted plant on the floor below that. Also, the cross lattice looks cheap, replace with horizontal and vertical lattice.

Also love the idea of adding wooden railings! Two ways you can go on style, with Craftsman or "country/farm." Depends on the neighborhood and your personal tastes.

Nix the shutters!

I love all of Nancy Ingram's ideas except lower profile bushes. I would get rid of the bushes altogether and plant something beautiful and low profile like Hostas or flowers. Your beautiful lattice will be seen much better!
