I love both! Don't think you can go wrong either way.

If you choose the green then you have set the tone for green in the kitchen.

The Cream (bottom one) seems to blend better with your floor tiles. What color is in the Granite?

The top one--is that the green? It has a lot of character and can stand up to the dark cabinets.

I like the pale, muted granite. As noted, it gives you more design leeway. Plus I just like it more!

I like the top slab. I like that color with your cabinets. The lower slab has something that looks like peach to me. Can you reconsider your floor tile? Many people regret choosing white floors.

I like them both, like the first one has a bit more depth to it, walls would look good painted a green/grey, like BM Gray mirage

Let us know what you go with a pics later.

Can't change floor tile, we left what was there as it was ok and would have been about 8,000 to change it as it runs thru the whole place.

Yes, the top slab has a lot of green in it, I just couldn't get it to come out in the pics.

If you like both, I would find out the level of absorption and consistency of each granite. Then, I would choose the best quality.

Rafisanti: How do I find out those things.

The Jurassic green is a colour that will tie in with many other patterns and colours. Just look at the tropical plants out the window. In the cream all of the black dots will drive you crazy.

You should do a web research or ask the supplier. Here (Argentina) I found the right information at www.destefano.com.ar
I wanted to buy a granite called "Kashmir White" but my husband didn't because its level of absorption is hight. Then I got a piece and made a test throwing red wine on it. The final result: pink granite (I couldn't clean the stain). Then I decided to buy a grey granite with low level of absorption (obviously I also tested it and it was ok!).

I realllly like the top one.It has more richness and character....in my opinion. The cream colour might clash with a white floor.

OT, Where did you get the fish art? I love it!

I thought granite was man made and didn't have to be sealed etc.

I have granite, did/do nothing to it and it doesn't absorb liquid. Didn't know

there was a difference. Perhaps a PRO could answer.

Not a pro, but granite is not man made, perhaps you are thinking of quartz products like Cambria etc.(although don't those need to be sealed also? Guess I don't know). Granite does need to be sealed and is typically sealed before installation. We were told to seal ours regularly (yearly? I don't even recall) but I'm ashamed to admit we don't, and 9 yrs after installation our kitchen counters still look great. Maybe we resealed it once or twice. Although it probably is a good idea to seal per fabricator's suggestion, as I don't think it's very hard.

I've never heard about researching levels of absorption, that is interesting.

Re the slabs shown, I love the first; the second comes across with peachy tones on my screen that I'm not a huge fan of. But both are lovely, with beautiful natural movement,. I don't think you can go wrong!

Thanks for correction. Quartz is what I was thinking of.

Question: does that slab have peach color in it? Every slab is different, perhaps you could look at a few different ones.

It didn't seem peachy in person, more tan, but definitely need a 2nd view with that in mind. Don't want peach.

I was just reading that Kashmir granite is more porous than many other granites so that is also cause for concern.

I think we are going with the green one. It's a scary decision!

I am so glad to hear you are choosing Jurassic Green. Please send photos when it is in.

Will you be doing a backsplash? Be sure to install under cabinet LED lighting for best vision in the prep area.

We are doing led under cabinet lights and also on top of cabinets. Have no idea what to do for backsplash. Every new selection makes the next one even more difficult as the layers build. Appreciate the help I get from houzzers very much!
