Amur Maple seeds - invasive?

I'm looking to plant a couple shade trees in the backyard. Hubby wants a maple that turns red in the fall. We are in zone 2/3. It was suggested we buy Amur Maples because they are beautiful, grow fast, and don't get too big. However, I'm worried about the seeds. There are big, old Elm trees in our neighborhood and when they go to seed there are BUCKETS of seeds everywhere that are very quick to sprout in everyone's flower and vegetable gardens. They are such a pain in the butt. I would not want to contribute to this problem by planting more trees with invasive seeds. Please help!
