Lots of mine started out white too - like yours they haven't been exposed to a lot of light (being undercover and well sheltered). I agree with Pieter that you needn't worry beyond watching out for cold temps as they grow.

BC and I are in the same neck of the woods, and I have numerous hostas in ground that are pipping...like this 'Empress Wu' for example

I have had pips buried under leaves that were 2 inches or so long and white, They were taking energy from the crown and growing, stretching for some sun.

Once they have emerged like yours have I would place them I'm in a shady spot as Pieter suggests to harden them off.

weather has been in the 60's...surprised me a little to see their progress...so now weeks of watching temperatures before I can relax...don't u just love the hostas outside that r so undemanding...

update...doubled in size & look green & healthy!!!
